Missing $15bn diamond revenue: Zim parliament 'to question Mugabe from his Harare mansion'
A Zimbabwean parliamentary portfolio committee that is investigating the looting and loss of diamond revenue amounting to $15 billion, has reportedly "resolved to meet former president Robert Mugabe at his private home instead of dragging him to parliament" for questioning.
Mugabe, 94, who is in frail health, was called to give evidence last month but the meeting was postponed.
Lawmakers planned to question Mugabe over his 2016 claim that the country had lost $15 billion in revenue due to corruption and foreign exploitation in the diamond sector.

Zim readies for crunch election... over 100 political parties set to contest - report
More than 100 political parties have reportedly registered to contest Zimbabwe's crunch elections which are scheduled to take place before the end of August.
According to eNCA, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) started its preparation for the forthcoming election over the weekend when it opened the voters roll for inspection countrywide.
The ZEC chairperson, Priscilla Chigumba, said that the inspection of the voters roll would help "clean up anomalies and ensure fairness in the country's elections".

SA hunter 'bribed Zim govt officials to shoot an elephant illegally'
The owner of a South African hunting company was indicted this month in Colorado by federal prosecutors, who accuse the man of bribing Zimbabwean government officials while guiding a Colorado tourist on a hunt for elephants and working to have the ivory tusks of an elephant the group illegally killed inside a national park imported to the US.
Prosecutors said 44-year-old Hanno van Rensburg took a client to the area around Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe to hunt elephants in 2015.
The Colorado client shot one elephant that did not die. The hunting party then tracked the animal into the national park but could not find it, according to prosecutors.

WATCH: Ebola is back in the DRC - but the outlook is hopeful
Two more people have reportedly died from the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Quoting Reuters, BBC said on Tuesday that the fatalities were recorded in the north-east city of Mbandaka.
This came as reports said that an Ebola vaccination campaign in a northwest provincial capital had begun in a major effort to stem an outbreak that already has spread from rural towns into a city of more than 1 million people.
An AP report said that the vaccination drive started a day after the health ministry announced that a nurse had died from Ebola in Bikoro. The rural northwestern town is where the outbreak announced in early May began.

Highwaymen rob Zim passengers along SA highway: report
At least three buses carrying Zimbabwean passengers were robbed at gunpoint along the Musina Johannesburg highway at the weekend, a newspaper reported Tuesday.
One Intercity bus was boarded by four armed men after they shot the tyres early on Sunday morning.
Cash and cellphones stolen
"They took someone's bag and ordered us to throw our cash inside. It was very scary as they moved down the row of seats and we meekly deposited our cash into the bag," an unnamed passenger told the state-run Chronicle.

Lesotho Constitutional Court declares offence of criminal defamation unconstitutional
The Southern Africa Litigation Centre has commended Lesotho's constitutional court after it declared the offence of criminal defamation unconstitutional.
In a statement, the centre's litigation director, Anneke Meerkotter, said the court found that criminalising defamation would have a chilling effect on freedom of expression for journalists which could lead to self-censorship and a less informed public.
Meerkotter said the court cited with approval calls by the African Commission and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression which encouraged states to repeal criminal defamation laws.
