A 55-year-old man suspected in a series of burglaries and thefts in South Carolina, North Carolina and seven other states has been arrested in Maine.York County Sheriff William King Jr. says an investigation by his department and other law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of 55-year-old Joseph Hodge, of Jacksonville, Florida. The Portland Press Herald reported that deputies investigating three business burglaries learned that two other businesses in another city had been burglarized. The deputies said they used Facebook leads, video surveillance and interviews to identify Hodge as a possible suspect, the Press Herald reported. Hodge was taken into custody early Wednesday at an Auburn, Maine, motel. He had $35,000 in cash in his possession when he was arrested, according to King. King said Hodge has multiple theft-related warrants in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arkansas. Hodge is being held with bail set at $70,000.
